Since 1997, the Regent Park Children’s Foundation has been dedicated to supporting children in Toronto’s most equity-deserving communities. The Regent Park Children's Foundation is dedicated to empowering students in underserved Toronto communities by providing innovative educational support through art therapy and enriching experiences that nurture creativity, resilience, and personal growth.

We envision a future where every child, regardless of socioeconomic background, has access to transformative educational resources and emotional support that empower them to thrive. By providing supportive programs and removing barriers, we create opportunities for students in Toronto’s diverse urban neighbourhoods to fully engage in their education and personal growth.

Our current focus is funding art therapy programming at various schools across the Greater Toronto Area. This program provides an essential outlet for self-expression, allowing children to process emotions, build self-esteem, and develop coping skills. Research has shown that art therapy can reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and enhance social skills—ultimately leading to better academic performance and overall well-being.

More broadly, over the twenty-seven years since inception, we have funded programs that make a real difference in the lives of these children, including:

  • A computer lab and literacy tools to enhance learning opportunities

  • Nutrition and school meal programs to ensure students start their day nourished

  • Sponsorship of sports teams and organized graduation trips to enrich their school experience

  • Art and play therapy programs that help children build emotional resilience and self-expression
